C-124 out of McChord Washington
Photo are by Skip Philips during his time in the USAF.
The beginning pictures are at Hickam, Tachikawa, and Wake Island. Then 3 ship formation flying off the coast of Oregon from our base at McChord AFB, Washington. I took the pictures when it was not my turn fly. They were taken from 1961 thru 1964.

Here's a rare one. AC-119G Shadow gunship being ferried to Vietnam. Taken by my dad Sam R. Jones from his C-124C on their way back from Da Nang in January 1969. |

More C-124 pictures
I believe aircraft modeler have completely missed the importance of the C-124. During it lifespan in the USAF this aircraft hauled so cargo to all parts of the world. Yes is was slow, but it got its cargo where it needed to be.
