Eduard's FW-190 D. The build from hell. Pt1

Earlier this year I had started Eduard Fw-190 to enter in the IPMS Nationals.   The kits turned into a nightmare.   The wing canon covers would not fit without a lot of filing on on them.  The engine assembly was a bear to do.  The worst part after the fuselage was put together the Machine
gun  cowl didn't fit.  The only fix was to break apart the area in front of the cockpit fire wall.
 The lower wing between the wheel I replaced that with a one of a tamiya FW-190A8.   After managing to fix the problem with the cowl fit I thought I was going have a great looking model. After painting the model I noticed that the tail didn't look right.   To my surprise the rear fuselage was twisted to left.    It became a task to finish the aircraft.  Now I need to take pictures of the finished model.   Here are some in work pictures.

191st F-4C's around the world.    Some are in pretty rough shape.  583 was used for battle damage repair training.  Sadly they are just fading away in the sunset.  Like most of the veterans that worked on.   All photos are from the internet with photographer name.  All pictures are for reference.

Six Pack F-4C profiles

This are from Cutting Edge Decal sheet.   I was in the Six pack at this time.   Most of the F-4C came from Iceland.  When the unit transitioned from "C" models to "D", the "D's" came from everywhere. But the majority came from Vermont as that unit was getting the first F-16s into a Guard unit.

The F-4 was a great aircraft for our unit.  It normally took a couple of months to get the Phantoms up to speed.  Most because when a unit transferred the aircraft they were not in the best condition.  But I don't blame them.  Money for flying and maintenance get a little tight.

Most of the D models would start in ADC grey.   As they when to depot of major inspections the  aircraft back in various low vis scheme.
