F-16ADF's of the 191st Fig

Finding pictures of the unit ADF F-16 are as rare as hen teeth.  Not sure id the unit loved them or not. But was the being of the end of 191st as a fighter unit.  Also we need need all the people to maintain the aircraft  like the earlier fighter.

End of line for the ADF F-16 and 191st as a fighter unit.

  1. Gary,

Agree. Finding pics of the ADF variants is rare, Maybe if they had painted them in the NORAD paint scheme of a solid gray color there'd be more pics of them. As I remember, the first I saw were "A"'s just after they came to Selfridge while on a AAHS tour of the base. After that, the changes seen were so slight that their use in the "ADF" role was just taking the "A"'s and using them unmodified from previous assignments. I think it was a year or so later at an air show when I noticed the bulge (with blades ahead of the windscreen and some kind of rudder plane change at the bottom) and asked whomever was standing by as information aide. It was he that told to me the F-16 was an ADF variant not just a plain old F-16A. The"IR" ball added to ADF F-101B and F-102A's were quite noticeable when seen. The F-106's small hump ahead of the windscreen I took as a more streamlined IR modification, as that was the only mission it was designed for use as.
