 June 1, 1965; Chu Lai, RVN; 1200 hours, noon. Ordinance Marines from VMA 225 preparing A4C Skyhawks for the first combat missions from the half built SATS airstrip. The late Ron Benz from Long Island, N Y is facing the camera. The late Gunny Richard Boyer from Philly can be seen to Ron's left.

 AS you will have seen in the photo about the Intruder can carry a lot of whoop ass in weapons. Te North Vietnamese thought we had been hit by a B52 .

VMA 225 Chu Lai

 I was stationed out of Chu Lai from 1968 to 1970.  The Marine's did an amazing job with their air support.
