Just found this on the internet.  The modeller did a fantastic job on it.  To fix the errors on the Heller Connie he used Fisher new Nose and Flight paths engines.   Here is a link so you can see for yourself.

F-102 Case X and Case XX identicaton

Here is a reference to the difference between the Case X & Case XX.


Check the Serial number of the bird you're going to build:

Case X (flat trailing edge wing and rectangular shaped aileron): Serial numbers- 53-1790 to 56-1316

Case XX (curved trailing edge and angled outboard aileron edge): serial numbers 56-1317 to 57-0909

Sometimes you see the Serial number with a "0" proceeding it (most of the ANG birds from the 70s) for example "0-70909" would be 57-0909.

Had to post this video.  It is a great video to watch.  Plus learn a few things.  Sit back with a beer and enjoy.

Video of recovery of a DB605AS engine from a crash site.

I thought I would post this video.  A group of Polish people recovery a DB605AS.   What I found interesting is the Red warning note on the side of the engine block.

Update.  The Warning is for the firing order on the engine.   The order is different than the normal sequence.  Reading some posts on another site suggests that the changed firing order produce higher horse power. 

Black base. Instead of Grey primer.

 This looks an interesting painting technique.  Think I will try this out on my next model.  One has to experiment sometimes.   Check out the video.   The video is from Doog's video channel on you tube.
