1/72 B-50 Article built by Dave Boksanski

The last article written by Dave before he pasted away early in 1983.  I remember watching in the inner sanctum (His apartment).   Hard to believe 35 years has pasted.

BOH's 1/32 F-105

My buddy Dave has been gone since 1982.  Still miss the great and crazy times modeling with him in the basement of his home.  Plus the many trips to kill a few brains cells at the Polish VFW post in Flint.  Found these pictures surfing the internet.   Wish I had more pictures.  Hard to believe this is a Combat model vacuumed kit'

Some Memories about Boh

David "Bo" Boksanski.
Anyone remember this incredibly talented, cigar-chomping character?
Heard this story, which might, in fact, be apocryphal:
A modeler was bragging about his output to an IPMS chapter in
California.  Fellow IPMS'ers "Bo" Boksanski and (the late) Mike Dario
then built AN ENTIRE CARRIER AIR GROUP by the next month's meeting to
show the first guy what output REALLY meant!
Don't know whether THAT was true . . . but I personally know Bo
constructed 14 Revell 1/48 109G-10's in a little over two week's time.
Anyone have similar "Bo" anecdotes?
David L. Veres

Yes Bo, Mike and another individual did indeed build an entire CAG,
what's more they did it over one weekend, cleaned out all the decals in
Northern CA to do it..
Bo also took second at the St Louis IPMS Nats (one before last) with a
Combat F-101. Couldn't figure out how he did it,(make the Combat kit look
so good). Before he died, Mike Dario told me that the entire rear end
came from a Revell 1/32 F-4.

David,
Don't know about the air wing, but around March 71 Bo brought in
50 or so 1/72 Fujimi Skyraiders to the Sacramento chapter meeting. What
a guy.  We were meeting at a steak house that had a huge meeting room.
Those meetings were always a blast with outstanding models and modelers.
Mike Dario, rest his soul was always so supportive.  Those were the
days and I was there....

The decals came in 1/72 and 1/48 scale.  Al Mason made some excellent decals.

1/48 A-20 gear placement correction.

Looks like there is a problem with the gear placement on old AMT A-20. Here is the fix if you are interested.

What I have in my files:

"Those of you that wish to have your A-20G sitting on the ground may wish to correct its "sit" by drilling new main landing gear locator holes 1/4" (6.3mm) forward of the existing locator holes in the lower wings (24, 26).  If the main landing gear is installed "by the book," it will sit too far back.  Naturally, I caught this boo-boo after the fact, but that's what I'm here for - so you don't!  It is such an easy fix that you really should take a minute to drill the new holes."
On pg 7 of the erection and maintenance manual:

http://www.avialogs.com/index.php/en/ai ... guide.html

it says the axle of the main wheel is 4' 6" aft of the leading edge.
