I have been kicking these pixs around for a bit. Just to lazy to put them in the right place.

Model blog on military aircraft of all periods. Plus general history of aircraft.
Hard to believe it been 26 yrs since I retired out the USAF. The 191St Six Pack. Had great people in the unit. We where more of family than anything. As I looked through the pictures ,I realized lot the people in photos have passed on. The Original 'Six Pack" ADC is slowly fading away.
Find photos of the F-16 the 191st fig had. Is pretty tough. As they pop up I saved them in order to post these aircraft.
Gerry and I go back to around 1976. At that time we where both TARS in the Naval Reserve. Our Squadron was VP-93 at Selfridge ANGB, Michigan.
I'm posting this photo as a tribute to my friend Gerry Byrd. We where squadron mates in VP-93 for a number of years. I told him about the Guard technician jobs with the Phantoms and A7's. Few weeks later he was in the Guard. We enjoyed many a cruise killing brains at the club. Also in the barracks. I found out only a couple month ago he passed. Lasted talked to him, he was shipping out to Qatar. Fair sailing my friend. Gerry was an aviation tech on the F-4's and F-16s. He got riffed out to a office job. But later got back to the Squadron that now had C-130's
Unfortunately he pasted 31 Mar 2016.

My good Austrialian mate Jamie made these early tail marking decal. The markings were on 534 for a short time. Col John (Skip) Kimberly didn't like them. So John Bullis modified the markings to what became 191st "Six Pack" marking.

The glory days of the 191St FIG. The F-106 was an amazing fighter at the time it was in service. Without wing tanks the Six was unbeatable.
