Morning Gary, greetings from Australia! 

My name is Jamie McIntyre, ex-Royal Australian Navy (just a touch over 23 years) now living in Tweed Heads South, NSW. 

I found your Blog a few months back during a Google search, and am now a regular but until now silent lurker! 

Just wanted to let you know that your post on May 9 led to me creating the below for my Italeri 1/72 kit. 

I've been making my own decals since 2006, going from inkjet to laser and back to inkjet, currently using Dr Decal & Mr Hyde Waterslide Inkjet Decal Paper through a Canon Pixma MG2965 printer, and over-coating with Microscale Liquid Decal Film. This is the start of my 108th A4 sheet for personal use, not counting ones I sell (EBay, forums) or do for friends! 

I make the artwork on Powerpoint so have to take a few "artistic liberties" here and there (ie the font, close but no cigar, and note how the circled 3 and 5 over the star n bar impinge on the numeral below, I can't replicate this), and while I assume the artwork was applied to one side only have done it for both just in case.

Another amazing TU-114 model by Dave Boksanski

Thanks to Charlie Dunton for this 1972 article by Dave.   Today I hear people complain about models kits. This is wrong, the shape is off.  But Boh would just find some plastic tubing or another part from a different aircraft.  Next thing you know it was fix.   Here is a prime example of old school modeling.

War Eagle Special decal sheet Luftwaffe Two seaters

Here is a surprise sheet of decals.  I didn't or realize Ron had made this decal sheet.  In the instructions he thanks all the modelers that provided the documentation to make this possible.  Ron had been burned by other modelers saying his sheets where incorrect. Or inaccurate, this upset Ron, as he was a perfectionist to make everything was historical correct.   It is general not known the Ron quit make aircraft decals sheets because of this.  In his he had stacks of decals sheets that he wouldn't sell.  Why because a so called expert ranted on line the color was off or the numbers or Letter Font was incorrect.  All his efforts became directed to NASCAR and automotive decals.   I hope is keep his legacy and efforts alive.  Enjoy

Short history about WIngnuts

Wingnuts came on to the modelling scene in 2005.   These WW1 aircraft models are thee best on the market. But as of late rumors are abound that the company is closing.  As we all there is so much B.S. flying around during these.  SAdly a lot of small mom and pop hobby shops are taking the hit.  Back to WIngs.   Great video...

Converting FW190 A3 to A4 (Tamiya) Part1. The beginning

While digging pile of kits. To my luck  I found my Tamiya FW-190 A3 I had started about 8 years ago.  It same the wife has moved it to the shelf of doom area,  As we all know ours wife have tendency to move our models around,  In the box was the landing gear bay update,  The A3-A4 conversion,   Time to put it together,  Yes I know the Eduard has a beautiful A4 kit.  But I have spent the money already.  Don't laugh to hard as I stumble through the conversion and build.

It seems to difficult to find pictures of these aircraft.  I know in the 70's and 80's everything air guard unit had one as a squadron taxi or transport
